MTJQ
Modern Tradition Jazz Quartet – a paradox? Perhaps. Yet that precisely describes the essence of this band: a jazz quartet that, with original compositions by pianist Kenneth Berkel and saxophonist Niko Zeidler, oscillates between tradition and innovation. MTJQ doesn't completely break away from the roots of jazz, but consciously combines traditional influences with fresh, contemporary ideas. Clear harmonic structures meet surprisingly new melodies, offering space for creative freedom. MTJQ is a young ensemble that views tradition not as a rigid legacy, but as a source of inspiration – with a modern perspective and a constant musical curiosity. Their debut album, Perfection, was released in summer 2022 on Mons Records.
