The Berlin jazzquartet MTJQ, four young graduates of the Berlin Jazz Institute, knows how to impressively combine traditional and modern Jazz styles. The repertoire includes not only newly arranged standards, they also play original compositions by the saxophonist and pianist, which are strongly influenced by the tradition of jazz music, but still have their own unmistakable note. You can notice influences of bands like the Christian McBride Trio and the Joshua Redman Quartet. The creative interaction and the pure joy of the music gives the band his fresh sound.
